He would do it again without a moment’s hesitation – give up his secure state job as a tax officer to go to CT Lloyd Hanover. Stefan Onken was often approached by companies to switch to them. He was never tempted to. Instead, he applied to us and has never regretted it. The finance graduate has been with us since 2018.
He was a little worried about the myth that he would have to work twelve hours a day in the private sector. He soon realised: not the case at all. Even in his management role, he is able to spend a lot of time with his wife Laura and son Mats. He is grateful for that. Because at CT, he manages to balance both family and career.
The 37-year-old always needs new challenges – both in his private and professional life. This is why the tax consultant now also works for us as an authorised signatory, deputy team leader and quality assurance officer. He is planning a trip around the world with his family in 2026. “I’ve already spoken to the management about this. The open-door policy was a real boon here too. That’s great,” says the boundary tester happily.
